We have a special class offering on February 20th, 10am-4pm - Screen Printing on Fabric with Jean Dahlgren! In this class you will learn various ways to print your designs on fabric. This is a fun way to add surface design to any fabric, including woven ones. Cost of the class is $50 + materials and pre-registration is required as the class size is limited. Call to register and for more details.

Beginning Knitting
Cost: $30
Prerequisite: None
Materials Needed: 1 pair of #7 needles and a ball of coolspun cotton 

In this class, you will learn how to cast on, knit, purl and bind off while making a simple washcloth. These techniques are the basis for all knitting and we will get you well on your way to successful knitting.

Knitting Socks for Real!
Cost: $35 (pattern provided)
Prerequisites: 
Ability to knit, purl and make basic increases/decreases. Student should have experience knitting at least one project in the round on circular or double pointed needles. (If you are not sure if you have the needed skills to ensure your success, please ask.)
Materials Needed: 1 skein Cascade Superwash 220, 1 #6 - 16" circular needle, and 1 #6 24" circular needle.

This class is designed for knitters who have never made socks but want to feel the love, for those who have tried making socks but have failed and are willing to give it another try, for those who have made the proverbial single sock, never to have finished the pair, and for those who have tried making socks with double points and want to learn another way.

We will make boot socks on 2 circular needles, two at a time, and will break down the steps to make it easy peasy for all of us! This class takes place over 3 weeks, giving the student time to work on the socks and actually finish a pair, while learning all the important techniques and methods to ensure success. Once completed, you will be able to translate what you learned for all sock knitting and understand how to make 2 of any item at a time, like 2 fingerless mitts.

Intro to Flyer Wheel Spinning
Cost: $35 (fibers provided)
Prerequisites: 
None

This is a brief 3-hr intro to spinning on the spinning wheel designed for those who are interested in learning to spin and have little to no experience. This is an ideal class for those who do not yet have a wheel and want to test the waters to see if it's something they would like to study further. Students will learn the basics of wheel operation, how to draft, treadle and spin a basic yarn using a variety of fibers.Wheels can be provided.

Spinning using a Drop Spindle
Cost: $30 (fibers provided)
Prerequisites: 
None
Materials Needed: A well-balanced drop spindle

Learn how to make yarn using this ancient, yet versatile and portable tool. Students will learn about yarn construction, basics of fiber properties and will experience spinning and producing a sound singles yarn.

Spinning Clinic - 3hr class

Stuck in a rut producing "beginner's singles"? Need help drafting so your fibers remain in their lovely prepared state rather than a fuzzy mass? Need to get beyond the overtwist syndrome? This class is designed to teach spinner's who have already begun to spin how to take it to the next level and begin spinning the yarn You want, not the yarn that just happens. This class will, hopefully, get you to that 'ah ha!' moment where you gain control over your fiber and wheel and begin to spin the yarn of your choosing. Some wheel tuning will be done in class, as time permits.

Cost: $35
Prerequisites: Ability to spin a sound yarn within your comfort zone and a basic understand of your wheel'sl operation. (Bring info on your wheel's ratio's)

Materials Needed:  Spinning wheel and tools, including wheel lubricant, and fiber. Bring samples of recently spun yarn
